Very sobering. I hadn't put together that they're attacking Trump more as proxy for middle class Americans than out of concern he could effectively resist globohomo. Looking forward to whatever you put together on middle class resistance as I've been trying to write about similar themes myself (https://radicalamerican.substack.com/p/force-and-legitimacy). I think/hope there might be some line of legitimacy that can't be crossed by the regime in America because of our founding narratives and norms in contrast to the "most people will invariably follow the leader no matter what".

I'm so impressed with this essay that I made an article celebrating it: https://heroesvsvillains.substack.com/p/trump-on-trial-an-examination-of

What I thought was going to take few minutes, to highlight some favorite parts of your article turned into eight to ten hour project. Time well spent!

But I do fear that I may have abused your copyright, so let me know if you want anything changed, NLF. (I will postpone sending out the emails until after I hear back from you.)

BRILLIANT!

Regarding organizing, Emanuel Pastreich makes a persuasive case for the need to organize locally, in chapter 4 of his "How to take down the billionaires" book:

"The billionaires encourage useless complaining, complaining that makes people feel they have done something when in fact that have not done anything at all. What they do not want is for you to organize yourselves, to talk with your neighbors about what is happening in our country, or to plan a concrete strategy for retaking control of government."

"...throwing Trump in prison simply implodes the Republican party and allows Democrats to formally institute one party permanent rule."

I have wondered what would happen if real Republicans boycotted the RINO party. If half the Trump voters refused to vote, the Republicans would win almost no elections and cease to exist. We now have a de facto, informal Uniparty. If Americans were faced with the reality of formal one party rule, what would they do? I doubt if they would accept "one party permanent rule" under Democrats if they were faced with that.

Trump is a dissident totem pole (despite his many faults) so he has to be chopped down.

what a lot of bunk -- trump is being brought up on charges because he tried to subvert an election he lost and encourage his followers to attack the capital. thats all -- if he hadnt done that, and continues to lie and lie, if he handnt hoarded boxes and boxes of government files, if only he hadnt done those things, but he did.

I don't think that people understand that even if Trump somehow goes to jail for this, he can still run. Socialist Party Candidate Eugene Debs was imprisoned and was still allowed to get votes.

You used to support keeping governments out of the bedroom. Now its all turned around and y'all have been taken over by religious zealots. And its apocalyptic out there and we need to do something. And republicans do everything they can to keep us from attending to it -- the planet needs our attention -- hello.

america will never accept trumps attempts to dismantle of american justice or its democracy. our infastructure is crumbling or world is on fire, and all you care about is trumps constant gripes about having lost actually lost to biden. he knows he lost. the lies and craziness that comes out of your mouths is indeed humbling. With respect to whats happened to the middle class. But thats because we have no national health -- which is a huge burden -- and because republicans constantly do everything they can to dismantle unions. I support decision people make with their doctors without government intrusions based on religious dogma.
